El Born - Barcelona's fashionable district
Over the last few years the district of "El Born", lying
to the east of the Ramblas, has become one of Barcelona's most fashionable quarters. Its narrow streets are full of tapas bars, restaurants, boutiques
and designer stores such as "Custo".
It's always worth strolling through this neighbourhood, either during the day or in the evening,
as there is almost always something new to discover in its winding streets. The heart of El Born is the church of "Santa Maria del Mar", whose main entrance opens out onto a large square. The frequently visited Picasso Museum is also in El Born,
and is definitely worth a visit. The area's main street , lined with different
bars and restaurants, is the "Paseo del Born". A visit to the cava-bar "El Xampanyet" is also recommended.
Near El Born is the Palau de la Musica, a unique concert hall designed by the Catalan architect, Doménech i Montaner. And after exploring, you can relax in the Parc de la Ciutadella to the east of El Born.
Centro Humboldt brings you closer to Barcelona and its districts with its culture and leisure programme.
To complement your Spanish course, we offer you city tours and international get-togethers.
