The European language certificates telc
Intermediate Spanish certificate: telc Español B1
The telc Español B1 examination requires a knowledge of Spanish that corresponds
to level B1 of the European Frame of Reference. The examination is supported by
telc and held and assessed worldwide according to uniform standards.Centro Humboldt Barcelona is the first private language school in Spain to be authorised
as an examination centre.
Who is the examination for?
This examination is aimed at learners who have reached level B1 of the
Council of Europe's Common Europe Framework and wish to
use Spanish for personal and work purposes. In order to pass the
examination, learners should be able, for instance, to:
take in standard (written or spoken) information on
various situations which can occur in daily life.
understand personal and semi-formal letters
give information about family, education, etc.
What is level B1?
The Council of Europe's Common European
Framework of Reference defines level B1 as that of
the Independent User who can "understand the main ideas of
clear standard input,....deal with most situations,....produce simple connected
text".
Requirements
350 - 500 hours of Spanish. The telc Español B1 exam can be taken after successfully completing level B1.
Content of the telc Español B1 exam
The test consists of a written group exam and an individual oral exam.
The written test (lasting 120 minutes) is made up of 4 parts:
Test 1: Reading comprehension
Test 2: Grammar and vocabulary
Test 3: Listening comprehension
Test 4: Written expression
The oral test with a partner (lasting 15 minutes) consists of 3 parts:
Test 1: Exchanging personal information
Test 2: Exchanging opinions
Test 3: Reaching an agreement

Please contact Centro Humboldt at least 6 weeks before the date of the exam you wish to take.
Language diploma
Language diplomas are issued by telc GmbH and Centro Humboldt. Centro Humboldt sends you your language diploma about 6 weeks after your exam.
